Sidam

The Sidam is an anti-aircraft artillery system to destroy low flying enemy helicopters and airplanes. Sidam has a 360 degrees rotating turret (120 degrees / second) equipped with 4 Oerlikon KBA 25mm automatic canons. The turret is mounted on a M113 class tracked vehicle. It has been developed by the Italian company Oto Melara and is in service with the Italian Army.
The turret is also equipped with a self-stabilized optronic sight systems including a laser range finder. Each of the 4 canons can fire 2500 rounds per minute.
