290 GD The Merced-Benz Jeep is used by the Netherlands military. The car 4wheel-drive car is used in passenger, cargo, and a command version. It can also be equipped with radio transmitter and receiver equipment. There are two versions: the 5kN version and the 7.5 kN version. The 7.5 kN version has more cargo load capacity and 2 more seats. |
| Operational
usage The Mercedes-Benz vehicles are used in every Dutch operation. They are light and easy to transport. They are a good tool for patrol during peace keeping operations. Because the MB has no protection against enemy fire, the Dutch Army has bought a few Bushmaster vehicles for the operations in Uruzgan, Afghanistan (2006-2010).  |
