Military Aircraft--> Other fighter jets--> Cheetah
Cheetah

The Cheetah is a single engine supersonic fighter jet, developed by the South-African Atlas on the basics of the French Mirage III. The Cheetah C is a single seater and the Cheetah D a twin seats version. In addition to the Mirage III have been added: canards, other electronics and other weapon systems. Cheetah made his first flight in 1985.

The Cheetah can be equipped with weapons like the Python and Shafir air-to-air missiles. It has a 30mm board canon. It is likely that Israel has been part into the development of the Cheetah because it has already made the Kfir on the basics of the Mirage III

South-Africa intends to replace the Cheetah fleet by the Saab Gripen.
