Netherlands In the Netherlands they are in service with the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF). They are used for Search and Rescue operations. They can transport civilians from the Wadden islands to the coast for medical care. They can also be used for the rescue of drowned persons and supporting civilians ships in emergency. The 3 helicopters are stationed on Leeuwarden AFB. By 2013 they will be replaced by the new NH90 NFH. The NH90 has a much larger cabin. |
