NH90 NFH

The NH90 is a European helicopter developed by NHIndustries. NHIndustries is a collaboration of 4 European companies who will develop the NH90. These 4 are: Eurocopter (France and Germany) 62.5%, Agusta (Italy) 32.%, Stork fokker Aerospace B.V. (Netherlands) 5.50%. Since 1991 Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands work together, in 2001 Portugal joined the collaboration of the NH90 and the 5 countries called themselves the ´Nato Helicopter Management Organization´ (NAHEMO). Norway, Sweden and Finland are also working close with NHIndustries but are not part of the project. There are 2 main versions of the NH90; the NH90 TTH and NH90 NFH.

The NH90 NFH is ordered by countries like:

Netherlands
The Netherlands will buy 12 NFH´s and 8 maritime TNFH's with an option of 2 transport helicopters. The helicopters are part of the Air Force but are mainly operated by (former Lynx and/or Orion) Navy people. The NH90 is operated by 860 squadron with support of 990 squadron on Naval Air Station de Kooy (MVKK) near Den Helder in the North-Westh of the Netherlands. These squadrons are part of the Defence Helicopter Command which has most squadrons on Gilze-Rijen Air Force Base. The commander of the DHC is a 1-star general.

2007
On 15 september 2007 the first NH90 NFH was presented at NAS de Kooy.

2010
In May 2010, the first NH90 NFH was delivered to NAS De Kooy.

2013
In January 2013, 7 NH90's were delivered. The 8th NH90 was delivered at the end of January.
In Januari 2013 the first NH90 NFH was deployed on a operational mission to Somalia onboard of the Air Defence and Command Frigate Hr. Ms. De Ruyter. The NH90 fleet is expected to be fully operational in the second part of 2013.
