Super Seasprite The SH-2G Super Seasprite is a naval helicopter developed by the American company Kaman Aerospace. The helicopter can be used for anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, over-the-horizozn targeting Airborne Mine Countermeasures, SAR, covert operations and surveillance. |

The
Kaman Super Seasprite is in service with the United States Navy, the Australian
Navy (11), New Zealand Navy (5) and Poland. The heli have been developed
with avionic systems be able to operate in the highest combat spectrum.
The heli operates from Anzac class frigates by day and night operations. The first helicopter of the 11 which have been bought was delivered in January 2001. Mission The Seasprite has advanced software systems, tactical equipment and weapon systems. The roles contains of: Surveillance of surface waters, attack of surface targets, submarine penetration, visit; board; search and arrest operations, naval firepower support operations, search and rescue operations, useful use by transport. Australia Technical The heli has a length of 16 meters and a weight of 6225kg. The maximum speed is 225 km/h, maximum distance is 830 km. De crew contains a pilot and a tactical officer. It has 2engines of the type GE T-700 Turboshaft. Weapon systems The heli can be armored with: 2 Kongsberg Penguin AGM-119 Anti-ship missiles 2 Mk46 torpedo's 1 7.62mm machine gun
