Hr. Ms. Van Galen

The Hr. Ms. Van Galen is 1 of the (6 or 7) operational multi-purpose frigates of the Royal Netherlands Navy and belongs to the Karel Doorman class. Building these ships started in 1984. They were developed and manufactured by the Dutch company De Schelde in Vlissingen and the engineers office Nevesbu.

The ships have a few stealth characteristics and can be used for surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare and for their own air defence.
